Events for 2012


GOD, THE BIG BANG AND GIANT BALLOONS
Tuesday April 24, 6-8 pm – Do science and faith conflict?  UofT Professor in Astrophysics, Barth Netterfield, does not think so.  Through a multi-media presentation he will be speaking of his research using balloon borne telescopes to discover the age, geometry and content of the universe.  And also about what it can teach us of the author of the universe.  This will be an interactive presentation with time for questions and small group discussion.

Where? Multi-Faith Center (Koffler House) – 2nd  floor.  KP on the UofT map. 569 Spadina Ave. (east side), between Willcocks Street and Russell Street

Badminton and Table Tennis
Sat. April 21, 3-5 pm – We have racquets, birds, bats and balls.  Chinese Presbyterian Church gym, 177 Beverley Street, 2 blocks south of College Street. Beverley is the continuation of St. George south of College.  Use the side door off Baldwin Street.

Saturday May 19 – Hike/Bike/Picnic in Edwards Gardens

Edwards Gardens is one of the most beautiful public gardens in Toronto. We’ll start with a picnic lunch followed by a tour of the flower gardens, stream, bridges and brides of the gardens.  Then we’ll go for a 45 minute hike to Sunnybrook field to play a little soccer and Frisbee.  We may stop to watch the strange game of cricket. Then we go on to the barns to watch the horses of the equestrian club.  Our day will end with a hike up the Don River to the Glendon Campus of York University.  More details to follow.
